Scarification

If your grass has moss or a thatch of dead grass it can form a dense layer which holds water and creates an environment for moss to grow. It will also restrict water and oxygen from getting to the grass roots below.

Moss will make your lawn feel spongy, and you can often see it growing as a layer at the base of your grass.

Scarification of your lawn is required if you want to prevent moss from taking over and also required to produce the vibrant healthy leaf system that is essential to having a lush green lawn free from pests and disease.

Aeration

Lawn compaction prevents water and nutrients from moving freely into and through your lawn upper soil levels. The root system of your lawn needs to be able to readily access these vial nutrients and moisture in order to grow a healthy robust leaf.
A compacted lawn will always struggle to grow well and will show tell tale signs of stress. Aeration of your lawn will ensure the break up compacted soil and once again allow the essential ingredients for growth to percolate.
